Soulless

Soulless is one of those novel which I actually like but I am not sure whether I'll read the next books or not. I have a feeling that the next books in the series will loose the charm that Soulless has. O.k I'll be honest I read the blurbs and reviews for the next 4 books and I am not excited. Alexia is a nice MC but I don't think I can take too much of her wit. I like humor in my books but not too many doses of it.
Here I go again instead of pointing out the good I am bashing the poor novel.
Soulless was a really good read. I liked both the MCs. The world was well developed and I loved the humor. Here are some of the funny scenes that I can't help but quote...
“Goodness gracious me,” exclaimed Alexia, “what are you wearing? It looks like the unfortunate progeny of an illicit union between a pair of binoculars and some opera glasses. What on earth are they called, binocticals, spectaculars?”
“How ghastly for her,” said Alexia, driven beyond endurance into comment. “People actually thinking, with their brains, and right next door. Oh, the travesty of it all.”
Scottish he may be by birth, but that only made him better equipped to deal with strong-willed females. “Stop playing verbal games with me, madam, or I shall go out into that ballroom, find your mother, and bring her here.” Alexia wrinkled her nose. “Well, I Me that! That is hardly playing a fair game. How unnecessarily callous,” she admonished
Give Soulless a chance. I am pretty sure it can be read as a stand alone. You don't have to follow the series.
